Information at a Glance

The 1300km North Luzon and Audax La Union rides will start from Awesome Hotel in San Juan, La Union on March 7, 2026.   There is a qualification for the 1300km North Luzon - one needs to finish a 600km Audax ride or a 1000km Audax ride or an LRM event (Les Randonneur Mondiaux with distances 1200km or beyond) in the past.

Registration closes on February 21, 2026 for the 1000km and 1300km categories (or earlier if we reach the cap of 50 cyclists).

Registration fees for the 1000km and 1300km already covers accommodations (hotels/dorms) for ALL nights and bag drop services for all hotel/dorm checkpoints.  Hotels/Dorms are on a shared arrangement.  Should you want your own room (where you can also share with your non-cycling family/friends), you can choose the option (OWN ROOM or SINGLE SUPPLEMENT) in the add-ons section during the online registration.

Cut-off time for the 1300km: 108 hours

Cut-off time for the 1000km: 75 hours

Qualifying Ride for the 1300km North Luzon

Aspirants need to finish a homologated 600km Audax or a 1000km Audax or any Les Randonneurs Mondiaux event (1200km and beyond) in the past.  Another alternative for the 600km Audax is doing the 400km Audax on December 6, 2025 and the 200km Audax on December 7, 2025.  This will be accepted in lieu of the homologated 600km Audax requirement.

For those who wants to register for the 1300km North Luzon, kindly click the "Request to Register" button first and then email info@audax.ph of your qualifying rides/credentials (ride distance, ride name, location and date finished).

Controls

All of the control points are situated near sari-sari stores or convenience stores where one can buy drinks and have a meal. We would like to encourage to #SupportLocal as much as possible.  We also try to source most of the items needed for this weekend from local bakeshops, eateries and suppliers.

Most controls will provide the following:

- drinks (could be any of the following: water, coke, coffee or electrolyte drink)

- light snacks (could be any of the following: biscuits, fruits, local delicacies, hard-boiled eggs or pastries)

Expect no wifi and no charging stations at most of the checkpoints (excluding sleeping facilities).  We highly suggest you put a powerbank inside your "special needs" bags.

Bag Drop Service

1) A small colored bag will be provided for each bag drop location specified above.  This will be given to you during the Pre-Ride Check-In on March 6 at Awesome Hotel in San Juan, La Union.

2) Please don't put any bottles or tubes of liquids or oil in your bag.  Please make sure this is labelled with your name and the particular checkpoint where you want to have access to your bag.

3) Please hand your bag drop to us during the Pre-Ride Check-In from 2pm-6pm on March 6 at Awesome Hotel in San Juan, La Union.

4) Please claim your bag drop from the marshals and return it to them as well upon setting out after each overnight stop.  The marshals will NOT get any bag drops left in the sleeping facilities/rooms.

5) You may claim back your bag drop at the finish from March 11, 3-9pm at Awesome Hotel.  For unclaimed bags, we can arrange pick-up in Makati or sending it back to you by courier after March 11.  Please note that you will have to cover courrier fees.  Please email info@audax.ph to coordinate.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) Why is the 1000km and 1300km registration fees significantly higher?

We have incorporated the sleeping and shower facilities to remove the guess work from your end.  The accommodations are quite limited and we wanted to secure all this for the participants.  Please review the cue sheet and the locations of the sleeping/shower facilities.  Strategize wisely.  If you want to have an extra facility available to you at certain parts of the course, we can arrange this for you.

2) What happens if I arrive late at a control?

If the marshals are still at the checkpoint, you can have your brevet card stamped.  However, if they are not there anymore, you should take a photo showing that you are at the checkpoint at a certain time (take a photo of a watch or proof of this).  You can proceed if you think you can still make the total cut-off time of your ride distance.  The cut-off times have been designed to give you a proper estimate if you can finish the entire ride or not.  If you're not making the checkpoint closing times within the 1st half of the ride, that's a big sign that you probably won't finish the distance within the total cut-off time.

3) If I finish and I am out of time, what happens?

Your finish time will still be duly recognized and will be posted in the official results and you will be given your finisher medal. Out-of-time can be until March 12, lunch time.  However, your result won't be homologated and won't be an acceptable finish under Les Randonneurs Mondiaux.

4) Will you collect me if I don't finish the ride and decide to quit in the middle of the ride?

NO.  The audax rides have always been self-supported rides and you are responsible for your own health and safety.  However, should you not finish the ride, we suggest that you get to the nearest open checkpoint where the marshals are still working.  They can help arrange transport for you or if we have space in our vehicles, we would gladly take you with us going back.  However, you will have to wait for marshal duties to finish and there is no guarantee that there will be vehicles to carry you back.  Some checkpoint marshals will be on motorbikes and not in vehicles.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PLAN IN CASE THINGS GO WRONG.

5) Can I bring a Support Vehicle?

Yes but with the following guidelines:

No assistance from the support vehicle in between checkpoints.  Rider may not have physical contact with the vehicle, get in, or rest in the vehicle at any time during the brevet.  Checkpoints refer to designated stops along the route (can be a brevet-stamping/QR code scanning checkpoint or simply an identified checkpoint by Audax Randonneurs Philippines).

- While the vehicle may be used to carry tools, food, clothes and gear, rider will only have access from the vehicle at the checkpoints.

- At night, the support vehicle can leap frog (without impeding other cyclists and motorists).  The vehicle may be in sight of the rider at all times during the night.   No direct follow.

- No drafting behind the support vehicle nor may the rider/s ride using the light of the vehicle.   No direct follow.

- Support vehicles should be mindful of other cyclists on the roads AT ALL TIMES.  No abrupt overtaking.

- Penalty for SAG violation:

     * 1st warning: 2 hour additional time at your elapsed finish time

     * 2nd warning: non-homologation of your ride

These rules are pretty straightforward.  Let's not over-complicate and over-think this.  When in doubt, ask yourself if the support provided is aligned with the "safety and security" reason of having the support vehicle.  A tire puncture or a bike change (in between checkpoints) is not an emergency.  Surely, one can ride from one checkpoint to another without having to be supported by a vehicle.  These are also the same rules applied in Paris Brest Paris and in most Audax-approved countries.  Let us not abuse this privilege given to the Philippines.  There is no shame in riding your support vehicles and in calling it a day.  Keep your integrity intact and be good stewards of this sport.

6) Do I have to bring my brevet card with me at all times?  YES.
