Friends, Thank you for another successful Audax weekend last April 13. We had a total of 238 registered participants across all 3 distances (200km, 300km and 400km). We had 83 official finishers for the 200km distance, 42 for the 300km distance and 88 for the 400km distance. To date, we now have 31 Super Randonneurs from the Philippines for 2019. Final results with homologation numbers and Album of photos have already been handed over to the web team and will be uploaded in the website within the week. For those doing Paris-Brest-Paris, it is very important to keep these homologation numbers and submit them accordingly in the Paris Brest Paris website to ensure your registration.
Worth noting was the unrelenting heat of the sun that weekend with temperature reaching 44 degrees Celsius. I personally think that was the hottest Audax ride I have ever done and I still question myself sometimes why I'm doing this in the first place when I can just choose the easy way out - spend my weekends in the city going to the mall, or having a spa session or a shopping spree. But the randonneurs I have come to know are of a different breed. WE ARE OF A DIFFERENT BREED. We seek adventure and try to learn and understand how much we can push ourselves in this sport we have come to love. But we never aim for affirmation from others. I couldn't be any prouder of the people who have been joining us. There is a certain calm in their demeanour and a very humbling and distinctive atmosphere around these individuals. This is the very reason that whenever I'm around these Audax Addicts, I suddenly get that jolt of energy and enthusiasm even when I'm sleep-deprived and tired from the flights and engagements I have to attend to.
