Upcoming Rides and 2019 SR Clarification in a PBP Year

Friends, Please read through below updates on upcoming Audax rides in the country and the clarification between Super Randonneur status and Paris Brest Paris Qualifiers.  I received a lot of inquiries last weekend and I hope this article will shed light on those items.

1) Super Randonneur Status VS Paris-Brest-Paris Qualifiers.  One is considered a Super Randonneur for the season if one has done at least 1 200km Audax ride, at least 1 300km Audax ride, at least 1 400km Audax ride and at least 1 600km Audax ride in one Audax season.  You can qualify for Paris Brest Paris if you have completed the Super Randonneur series before July 3, 2019. For PBP qualification, any ACP-sanctioned brevet of a higher distance can be substituted for a missed brevet.  This means, you can substitute a 400km Audax ride with a 600km Audax ride.  However, this won't be considered for Super Randonneur status.  You still need to do a 400km Audax ride if you want to be SR for the season.

2) MAY 25 AUDAX RIDE IN SUBIC.  Initially, we scheduled a 200km and a 600km on May 25.  We have decided to add a 300km on this weekend.  Due to manpower constraints, we can't add a 400km Audax ride on this weekend.  We will be opening the registration for the May 25 Audax ride within the next 2 weeks.  Please wait for announcements.

3) Cancelled July 20 Remedial Audax.  We will be cancelling this for 2 main reasons: 1 - Audax Randonneurs Philippines has provided more than enough Audax rides for Paris Brest Paris qualifiers.  2 - Manpower constraints.  Should you still lack Audax rides to qualify for Paris Brest Paris or for Super Randonneur Status, you can try the audax rides in nearby countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

4) NEW!  Audax Baler on June 15!  Nothing like combining my love for long-distance cycling and surfing!  We are heeding the request of locals from Aurora province and we are happy to introduce a new Audax destination.  We will offer 2 distances for this inaugural ride - 200km and 300km.  Registration will be open within the next 2 weeks and route will be published by end of May.  It will be a nice coastal road to the direction of Casiguran so be ready to witness amazing views and some punchy hilly sections!

Should you have any concerns/questions, please feel free to reach out and leave us a message.  See you in the Audax! :)
