04/23/2024 | Carmela Pearson

We have just concluded the 200km/400km Audax Davao and 100km Populaire last weekend.  Please check the below files for the tentative results and let us know by April 25 of any comments/questions so we can double-check from our end and do the necessary adjustments before we submit the results to Paris on April 26.  You can reach us at info@audax.ph.  Let us not spam the Facebook group/page of Audax Randonneurs Philippines.  Please note that your result reflects your elapsed time = scanned time at the finish.  It doesn't reflect the elapsed time in your Strava or GPS devices.

To say that last weekend in Davao is hot can be an understatement.  It was a sufferfest but our randonneurs are definitely much tougher.  If there was something that made last weekend's Audax Davao ride a standout, it's the women randonneurs who really made an effort to be there and finish such a tough ride on the bike.  Shoutout to the incredible mommies of Team Sunrise Spinners and Ms. Lorraine D'Costa-Trow (who flew in from India just to ride the audax in Davao)!  How I wish I was present to see your amazing riding and spirit!  Truly an inspiration to many more female riders out there. :)

Thank you to Davao City, City Sports Davao, Tourism Davao and the many local government units who showed support for the Audax last weekend.  Thank you to our corporate sponsors: Microtel by Wyndham Davao, TADECO, Anflocor and Petron Engine Oils (Power-Up Corporation Davao).  Thank you to the cyclists who showed up last weekend... It's not easy to get yourself at the start line of a ride... a ride that you know will be very tough, hot and has a lot of uncertainties.  Last but definitely not the least, our utmost gratitude to the Centurion Cycling Club Mindanao for taking the lead in staging the Audax in Davao last weekend.  For the past few years, they have sincerely took the reigns with the same objective of just serving the randonneuring community of Mindanao.  This is a group made up of multiple Super Randonneurs and veteran ultra-distance cyclists in Mindanao.  Thank you for the many updates over the weekend, Sir Alex Regaspi and Mr. Patrick Baruiz!Audax Davao is in good hands with CCCM!

I just realized that we have delivered 22 Official Audax PH rides in Davao as of this writing.  Davao was the forefront of Audax riding in Mindanao and there is no slowing down.  There are a lot of rides in the pipeline for Mindanao and I can't wait to share more information about these plans in the next few weeks.  :)
